Learn, Grow & Lead for Teens
Exciting new program for teens to participate in cool activities and learn life skills in a super fun and supportive environment!

Each week brings a new focus and awesome skills to learn as well as an opportunity to earn 15 community service hours. And, new this year, Junior Start-Up Lab is partnering with HoopEd to offer a half-day option that can be combined with a half day of LGL. In Junior Start-Up Lab, teens will learn how to start a business (week 1) and put your ideas into action (week 2). For the other half of the day, teens can participate in the themed LGL class and earn 15 hours of community service!

This program is specifically designed for students entering 6th thru 11th grade

What to expect at camp

In addition to becoming an integral part of The Day Camp Team, assisting Teachers and Coaches and spreading awareness and enthusiasm for our program your teen will:

  • Be a part of camp setup
  • Be mentored by a Leadership Teacher
  • Set and meet both personal and program goals
  • Get to know other participants in his or her age group
  • Help all participants to engage in the program experience
  • Foster a sense of team spirit and fun
  • Be a great role model

Week 4: July 9-13

"Fix It!"

Learn life skills that will surprise your friends and family and will be very useful to know such as how t operate a leaf blower and raking techniques, basic plumbing, sew a hem and patch clothing as well as how to change a tire!

Week 5: July 16-20)

"Self Defense and First Aid/CPR Certification"

Self Defense is an important skill to know but also fun to learn and practice with a professional teacher. You also will get certified in CPR and First Aid. Junior Start-Up Lab: My First Business Level 1 for rising 9th-11th graders.

Week 6: July 23-27

"Survival Week"

Can you survive? Purify water, make a box oven and cook your meal in it, learn to set up tents and shelters, knots and other survival skills! Junior Start-Up Lab: My First Business Level 2 for rising 9th-11th graders.

Week 7: July 30-August 3

"Crafternoon"

Use your creativity and learn new skills! Sew a pair of pajama pants, make creepy frankentoys after deconstructing used toys, pottery and more!

Week 8: August 6-10

"Bake Off"

Get cooking every day! Create recipes, make a cookbook and have Bake Off competitions! Junior Start-Up Lab: My First Business Level 1 for rising 6th-9th graders.

Week 9: August 13-17

"Garage Band"

Practice the art of songwriting and build, decorate and design instruments as well as jam out with much more heavy metal fun! Junior Start-Up Lab: My First Business Level 2 for rising 6th-9th graders.
