These program is specifically designed for students entering 6th thru 11th grade


NEW for Summer 2019: Two Teen Programs to Choose From!

  • WHEN: July 8 - August 9, schedule any number of weeks
  • WHO: Boy & Girl Teens entering Grades 6-11
  • WHERE: Grace Episcopal Day School in Kensington, just north off the beltway on Connecticut
  • COST: $325/week for Original LGL, $300/week for Referee Ready LGL (multi-week discount of $25 off/wk for 3 weeks or more)

Both programs incorporate a Community Service Project in addition to the LGL activities so campers leave with 15 SSL hours per week.

What to expect at camp

In addition to spending time with your peers focusing on the weekly theme activities, participating in a community service project that earns each camper 15 SSL hours per week, LGL Campers will spend part of their day guided to lead younger campers! Your teen will:

  • Be a part of camp setup
  • Be mentored by a Leadership Teacher
  • Set and meet both personal and program goals
  • Get to know other participants in his or her age group
  • Help all participants to engage in the program experience
  • Foster a sense of team spirit and fun
  • Be a great role model

Week 4: July 8-12

"Self Defense and First Aid/CPR Certification"

Referee Ready LGL for Teens: Active Sports and Games, playing and leading! Original LGL for Teens: "Self Defense & First Aid/CPR Certification" - Self Defense is an important skill to know but also fun to learn and practice with a professional teacher. You also will get certified in CPR and First Aid.

Week 5: July 15-19)

"Fix It!"

Referee Ready LGL for Teens: Active Sports and Games, playing and leading! Original LGL for Teens: "Fix It" Learn life skills that will surprise your friends and family such as how to sew a hem, button, patch clothing, how to change a tire and how to change oil!

Week 6: July 22-26

"Bake Off"

Referee Ready LGL for Teens: Active Sports and Games, playing and leading! Original LGL for Teens: "Bake Off" - Get cooking every day! Create recipes, make a cookbook and have Bake Off competitions!

Week 7: July 29-August 2

"Survival Week"

Referee Ready LGL for Teens: Active Sports and Games, playing and leading! Original LGL for Teens: "Survival Week" Can you survive? Learn to make a campfire, create a shelter, leave signals if you are lost, find direction using the sun and stars, knots, what is safe to eat in the wild and other survival skills!

Week 8: August 5-9

"Entrepreneur Fun and Babysitting Certification"

Referee Ready LGL for Teens: Active Sports and Games, playing and leading! Original LGL for Teens: "Entrepreneur Fun and Babysitting Certification" Explore methods to raise money and use social media to gain customers! Create a resume and practice interviewing and follow up for jobs. Finish the week with Babysitter Certification!
